Case study

The House Interiors

An interiors brand identity and Shopify website case study showing how a clearer direction helped a local retail business prepare for wider online growth without losing its personal feel.

Problem

The store was the business’s main retail outlet, but The House Interiors wanted to make its products and expertise available to a wider online audience.

The challenge was to support that growth without losing the personal advice, local character and customer experience that made the store valuable.

What changed

We carried out a Brand Clarity Sprint to define the positioning, customer value and future direction of the business.

Using that clarity, I created the logo, visual identity and marketing materials, then designed and developed a Shopify website with full ecommerce functionality.

Online purchasing is currently switched off while the product content and supporting infrastructure are added. In the meantime, the website operates as a brochure site that introduces the business, showcases its expertise and supports the physical store.

Why it mattered

The House Interiors needed a website that could serve the business properly now while also supporting its plans for future online growth.
Building the ecommerce platform from the outset means the business can develop its online range in stages, without needing to replace the website when it is ready to begin selling online.

The brand and website also retain the warmth and personality of the store, rather than making the business feel like an anonymous online retailer.

Commercial impact

Gave The House Interiors a clearer and more consistent brand, a stronger digital presence and a flexible Shopify platform prepared for future ecommerce growth.

If your business wants to reach more customers without losing the trust and personal service that made it successful, jumping straight into design or ecommerce is rarely the answer.

The first step is understanding what your customers value, what makes the business different and how that should shape the brand and website.
